I must miss the States a lot. For the last 2 out of 3 nights, I've had dreams about going grocery shopping back in the US of A. The first dream was in Giant, the second was in Whole Foods. I absolutely cannot wait to go. Is that sad?

Mmmm, America.

  1. Hi Brody,

You gave me the first chuckle of the day. What were you buying in your American supermarket dreams? What do you like (or not like) about Belgian supermarkets? Do you like trying out new and different foods you can find there?

  2. Miss Footloose, I'm glad I made you laugh! I really do like Belgian supermarkets, and Belgian cuisine in general, as well as trying new food in every country I visit (Italian ones are wonderful!). However, there is something about the massive American supermarkets with walls and walls of choice that I just love.

In my dream I was buying all the stuff I can't get here normally... peanut butter, different kinds of cereal (honey bunches of oats, cin. life),etc. Somehow American food, or at least the typical American brands (that I can't get here) have become delicacies in my mind.

I think another reason I'm dreaming about it is this: I am a hoarder, I like having plenty of things, and here that's not really possible without a car. Everything I buy, I have to carry home. So maybe this is a good exercise for me!
